Getting Started
Download Sylk from the App Store, tap "Sign Up," and create an account with your email address and a secure password. You'll then choose your role (Owner, Supervisor, or Worker) and complete a brief onboarding.
As an Owner, go to the Supervisors or Workers section and tap the "+" button. Enter their email address and we'll compose an invitation email for you. When they sign up with that email, the app will automatically detect the invitation and connect them to your organization.
Go to Settings → Bank Accounts and tap "Connect Bank." You'll be guided through a secure connection process powered by Plaid. Sylk never sees your bank login credentials — Plaid handles all authentication directly with your bank.
Owner: Full access to all projects, finances, and team management. Supervisor: Manages assigned projects and workers, submits time tracking. Worker: Views assigned projects, submits daily reports and time entries.
Features
Sylk uses AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to generate construction estimates based on your project details, historical pricing, and industry data. Simply describe what you need in the chat, and the AI will create detailed, itemized estimates. Always review and adjust estimates before sending to clients.
Location is captured only when you actively clock in or clock out, and when calculating distances to job sites. We do not track your location in the background. Owners can see clock-in locations for their team. You can disable location access in your device settings at any time.
Tap the microphone icon in any text field to start voice input. Speak naturally and your words will be transcribed to text. This works great for creating daily reports, notes, and chat messages while on the job site. Audio is processed for transcription only and is not permanently stored.
Workers and supervisors can submit daily reports from any assigned project. Reports include a summary of work completed, hours worked, photos of progress, and materials used. Owners and supervisors receive notifications when reports are submitted.
Billing & Subscriptions

You can cancel anytime through the app's Settings → Subscription, or through the Stripe billing portal. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, manage your subscription in your iPhone's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
New users get 7 days of full access at no charge. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your selected plan will activate and your payment method will be charged. You can cancel anytime during the trial without being charged.
If you believe you were charged in error or have questions about a charge, please contact us at support@sylkapp.com. For subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play, refund requests must go through their respective support channels.
Privacy & Security
All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. We use row-level database security to ensure you can only access your own data. Bank credentials are handled by Plaid and never stored on our servers. Payment data is handled by Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified). See our full Privacy Policy for details.
Yes. Contact us at support@sylkapp.com to request account deletion. All your data — including projects, financial records, photos, chat history, and AI-learned preferences — will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
The AI assistant can access your project details, financial summaries, and chat messages to provide relevant responses. It does not have access to your bank login credentials, payment card numbers, or passwords. AI providers (Anthropic, Groq) do not use your data to train their models. Location data from clock-in events is visible to the Owner of your organization. Supervisors and workers cannot see each other's location. Location is only captured during specific app actions (clock-in, distance calculations) — never in the background. You can revoke location permissions in your device settings.
